1. Hello，everyone! This is the first time I write a composition on internet. And this time I want to write about my sutdied place, I gonna to write my personal opinion about it.
2. I studied in a foreign country, and I studied in an English Language Center. Many foreigners study in this program. However most of them do not like it, and they want to get out of this program as soon as they can, and there are many reasons for it.
3. First of all, the tuition is very high. This program charges in accordance with 12 credits, without accommodation and meals' fee. So the total fee is at least 1,500 dollars for one semester.
4. After paying this tuiton we can not get what we really want. For instance, the food is not good enough for the most of Chinese students. They do not adapt the food that in the canteen. Some students from other countries can get food which they like, but we cannot.
5. For the education system, all this program's student must past the placement test and get engough GPA so that they can skip other level to next level. However the student whose GPA is 4 and they did not do well in the placement test they only can go to next level. Some of student absent some classes and they do not work really hard in the program, however they get a good marks in the placement test and they can skip some levels. So the placement test only effect for the people whose English level is better.
6. So I hope this system can be changed, there are many students who studied very hard, and their GPA is 3.5 or more than 4, and they really should be rewarded. Whereas the reward, and the award should not be just a diploma.
7. On the other hand, This program has its advantage. For example, the teachers in ELC. Most of teacher is really helpful to the students. We have classes evry morning at 8 o'clock everyday, and the teachers get up at 6 o'clock to organize the class for us. I recived a mail which was sent at 6 o'clock on that day. We really appericiate to that.
8. Moreover, this program helped us a lot, it really can help us to improve our English level. In this program, all the students who really stuied hard can be at a good English level they except.
9. Last but not the least, in this program there are many foriegners, we came from different countries, it help us to get together and we can talk each other to understand other counties culture clearly.
10. Admittedly, the English Language Center is a good place to learn. However I do not thimk this program is good enough. I really hope that this program to improve itself, and make it better and better.

I agree with your point. We know the language is so important to the international student. In here, we don’t have the love for the parents. We do anything by ourselves. After all we are still kids. I think the ELC education system has some problems. Why some students study so hard and take the placement test isn’t so good. So they just go the next level. Their GPA is 3.5 or more than 3.5. So they don’t have any idea? The placement test is so important for ELC. Why you don’t think about who is study very hard. I think it’s more important than placement test. Some of student absents some classes and they do not work really hard in the program, however they get good marks in the placement test and they can skip some levels. So the placement tests only effect for the people whose English level is better. Don’t classify a kid with the result.
ReplyDeleteof course i will agree of Ang's view.ElC is really a good place to improve our English, they have many good teacher, and also similar to the college study.However, the fee is too expensive, and for some students are taking too much time on this course. Also one more point, Ang's essay really figure out most students' mind. I hope ELC can realize this program and think about it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ang's opinions. The teacher and the class are really helpful to us to improve our English. But for the ElC level system, I don't really like it. If some students take thire level normally without jumping or failing in levels, It will take their two and half years to finish. It's quite a long time with large amount of money. On the other hand, I think MSU don't have to matriculate a student who are really in "level one" standerd.
